Exploration: madrid @ mdf 26
With this Exploration, Caleido gets ready to follow Madrid Design Festival 2026, moving through exhibitions, talks and spaces across the city to intercept what design is currently trying to redefine. An open-ended journey, starting in Madrid and unfolding step by step, shaped by the festival itself and by what will emerge along the way.
From February 6 to March 8, 2026, Madrid Design Festival returns for its ninth edition, activating the entire city with more than 200 events, 55 exhibitions and installations, and a network of around 300 venues.
Guided by the theme “Redesigning the World”, MDF26 explores the role of design as a tool for transformation, structured around four key dimensions: responsibility, transcendence, impact and transmission. Among the announced protagonists are Patricia Urquiola, Luca Nichetto, Emma van der Leest, Christien Meindertsma, Studio Dumbar and Manuel Maqueda, all also involved in Madrid Design PRO, the festival’s professional platform dedicated to the contemporary challenges of design.
Among the main new features of this edition is FORMA Design Fair, the first fair in Spain dedicated to collectible design. Taking place from March 4 to 8, it expands the festival’s scope with a professional space conceived for designers, galleries and brands.
