[Author: Alba Cappellieri]
The Jewellery Museum of Vicenza – the only one in Italy entirely dedicated to jewelry – renews itself every two years: with no permanent collections, it offers biennial exhibitions of unique and exclusive jewels in the evocative spaces of the Basilica Palladiana. The catalogue, in presenting the masterpieces of this exhibition, includes the contributions of the curators who, far from the usual museum criteria of chronological or stylistic classification, return to the complexity of the jewel through multiple points of view, where the ancient dialogues with the contemporary and the masterpieces of the past flank those made with the technologies of the future.

The Jewellery Museum of Vicenza – the only one in Italy entirely dedicated to jewelry – renews itself every two years: with no permanent collections, it offers biennial exhibitions of unique and exclusive jewels in the evocative spaces of the Basilica Palladiana. For the third two-year period since its inauguration, the museum hosts 310 pieces of inestimable value, exhibited in nine thematic sections curated by nine internationally renowned experts. The catalog, in presenting the masterpieces of this exhibition, includes the contributions of the curators who, far from the usual museum criteria of chronological or stylistic classification, return to the complexity of the jewel through multiple points of view, where the ancient dialogues with the contemporary and the masterpieces of the past flank those made with the technologies of the future.

Silvana Editoriale was founded in 1948 by Amilcare Pizzi, as a way of remembering his daughter Silvana, who died prematurely in 1944. Through his commitment and passion, Pizzi expanded its business by publishing books of enormous value. In the mid-90s, Silvana redefined its publishing strategy, embarking on a path of growth and development on the national and international markets, focused on the fields of art, design, architecture and photography, all of which is documented in the on-site catalogue. Today, Silvana Editoriale publishes more than 400 titles a year in collaboration with Foundations, Research Institutes, Universities and Museums across Europe, the United States and the Middle East.
