The catalogue raisonné, edited by Chiara Spangaro, presents for the first time the entirety of Aldo Rossi’s design, from the first furniture produced in 1960 up to 1997.
It brings together about 70 objects and furnishings of industrial and artisanal production, illustrated by Rossi’s drawings, studies and texts, prototypes and documents relating to the Milanese architect-designer and theorist’s collaboration with the companies that worked with him, experimenting with forms and colours in the fields of metals and wood, marble and stone, ceramics and porcelain, artisanal and industrial textiles and plastic materials.
With Alessi, Arte, Artemide, Bruno Longoni Atelier d’arredamento, Designtex, Molteni&C, Richard-Ginori, Rosenthal, UniFor and Up Group, Rossi has designed furniture and iconic ‘objects d’affection’ that tie in with his architecture, introducing elements that are now metaphysical, now playful, or even reflecting on the relationship between the architectural and urban scale and that of design.
