SEVERI ALICE with the project “Orange is the new Break”

Orange is the most common citrus-fruit in the world, with hundreds of different varieties. It is a hypo-caloric fruit, rich in vitamin C and nutrients that are beneficial for your health. “Orange is the new Break” is a café centered around oranges, that serves sweets, orange juice, cocktails and more, based on this healthy fruit. This type of café is designed to spend the breaks in your constantly busy routine, allowing yourself a sweet moment of rest. Inside, customers will be immersed in a world “in slices”, where shapes, materials and colors recall the orange and make it the protagonist itself, creating an engaging experience for all. “Orange is the new Break” was conceived with the aim to create a system based on circular economy: oranges’ wastes and peels can be used in many new ways and the store is willing to work together with companies that can give a second life to these wastes, so to reduce their quantity and impact, in order to create sustainable and innovative solutions.

BENEDETTI ANDREA with the project “Casa Gava, la storia di un portabiciclette”

It is really ironic to think that the design of a bicycle rack became this! “Casa Gava” is the story of a complete renovation in which, seeing a brick improperly used as a bottle holder in a crawl space, inspired the work of the Architect.  Is there research in all of this? And sustainability? reuse? ethics? Let’s call it “upcycling”, the concept of reusing and repurposing materials to find a new use for an object that has “stopped serving its function”.

PULINA EXCLUSIVE INTERIORS with the project “Locus Amoenus”

The concept of this model penthouse is based on the literary topic of “Locus Amoenus” – Latin for “pleasant place” -, which refers to an idealized place of safety and comfort where the physical design becomes part of cognitive configuration. Through the reproduction of this imaginary garden, the viewer is transported into a place of endless leisure, where the cultural identity of its owners is reflected in the colors of the furniture and textiles. This design recreates a nostalgic temporal extension of domestic values reaching back into infancy, in order to emphasize the emotional centrality of the house as a physical symbol of the family. With this design the project aims to create a sort of bridge between the new metropolitan Asian culture and our longstanding Italian DNA of sophistication and craftsmanship.

BUZZATTI SARA with the project “Nature’s revenge – Stella McCartney store”

The project relates to the retail design of a Stella McCartney brand shop. The project was developed according to the ideals of the designer, as she is an activist in the ecological field and an animal activist, so much so that she harshly criticizes the rest of the fashion world for using unsustainable materials and practices. The concept of the project moves from this vision of hers, summed up by the presence of plants in the shop. It is a bit like nature taking back what has always been hers: a place where it can develop uncontaminated, without having to deal with urban concrete and skyscrapers.

LAVINOTTI GAIA with the project “Frugiata Restaurant”

“Frugiata” is a restaurant based on the consumption of chestnut, a typical product of the Apennines. Chestnuts are a healthy food, and they can be used in sweet and savory dishes. Chestnuts are involved in the conservation of territory and mountain landscape. The purpose is also maintaining the traditions and rituals related to this product. Chestnuts are the principal taste of every dish. They come from Italian’s typical areas of production. The idea is that the business will be open at lunch and at dinner for restaurant activities, at night for bar activities.

URRARO DOMENICO with the project “Season lab store”

“Season lab store” is a retail interior design project. It is a space strongly tied to the roots of the territory in which it raises. It is the result of a great deal of research in synergy with the customer. It reflects the values of the young brand, which makes Italian craftsmanship and production its strength. The project was centered on this philosophy, or rather on the integration of local craftsmen for the furniture’s manufacture, who actively and passionately contributed to the entire manufacturing process. A concept store extremely connected to the brand’s vision and designed to have a strong international value. The concept was designed in order to connect the environment to Faito, the mountain over Castellammare di Stabia (Naples, Italy), inspiration for the natural materials and landscapes’ colours.
