What is the relationship between MM Award and MM Company?

The International creative award is promoted by MM Company. Since 2011, at MM Company we support brands with our creative consultancy that creates and connects every aspect of the brand experience: branding and graphics, communication and design. At MM Company we work for relevant companies in the fields of product and interior design (cc-tapis, Etel, Henge, Natuzzi, Luxury Living, Sitia, Tubes…) and fashion design (Micam, Prada Group, Jacob Cohen, Fragiacomo…). During these years we have created a valuable network of professionals, including architects, designers and interior designers; Italian and International design, fashion and lifestyle companies; newspapers, blogs and influencers; contractors; fashion and design shops, distributors and e-commerce; private fashion and design lovers. Why should I apply to MM Award?

MM Award – International creative award is a unique opportunity for fashion, product & interior designers to receive a communication support of great value and to add an important recognition to their professional career.

When we talk about “communication support” we mean something very concrete: our press office will talk about the winning projects to Italian and International press. Important magazines such as AD are already talking about MM Award. Moreover, our profiled database of professionals and companies of this sector will be sent a communication note to present the winners and talk about their projects. Finally, we will give visibility to the winning projects on our communication channels.

Who will select the winners?

The projects will be evaluated by a Jury of experts (click here to discover more), prestigious professionals from the world of fashion, product and interior design. Participating in the MM Award – International creative award is therefore a unique opportunity to make yourself known and get in touch with them.

Can you tell us about the special mention dedicated to the Made in Italy?

In addition to being co-founder and creative director of MM Company, I have gained in recent years a great experience related to the Made in Italy, also writing the book “Moda. Il nuovo made in Italy” (Fashion, the new made in Italy) on the new generation of talents with the foreword by Renzo Rosso (founder of Diesel, part of the OTB group), teaching and lecturing on the subject.

In light of this background, I proposed, for the contestants belonging to the “Companies” category, to add the special mention #madeinitalyis , dedicated to the enhancement of the projects that best represent the Made in Italy. We chose this name because it is the continuation of a video-manifesto of the same name that we made in 2020 to highlight the excellent characteristics of Made in Italy.

Who can apply?

We have included 3 categories of contestants: “Students and creatives”, “Professionals” and “Companies”. Here’s how it works:

For contestants 18-25 years old: if you are a student or a young creative apply to the “Students and creatives” category. If you are a member of a brand/company/professional studio/professional collective that was founded less than 8 years ago apply to the “Companies” category;

For contestants 26-35 years old: if you are a student/creative talent/professional/freelancer apply to the “Professionals” category; if you are/are part of a brand/company/professional studio/professional collective founded less than 8 years ago apply to the “Companies” category;

For contestants over 35 years old: if you are/are part of a brand/company/professional studio/professional collective that was founded less than 8 years ago apply to the “Companies” category. Students, creatives, professionals or freelancers over 35 are unfortunately not eligible for the MM Award.

How do you apply?

First of all, I suggest you visit the website mmaward.eu and download the Rules & Regulations (you will be asked to register at Webquarters of MM Company, the agency’s digital platform). Once you have decided to apply for the MM Award, you will have to follow the procedure available exclusively online at mmaward.eu: you start by selecting a thematic category; then you add one or more projects to the cart and follow the guided procedure. Once the application procedure is completed, you will be able to upload the materials related to the projects you have nominated. To take advantage of the best conditions you can register now, and then upload the materials later (until 30/04/21). Applications close on 30/04/21, at midnight.

MM Award 2021: talk with Marco Magalini, President of the Jury
Marco Magalini graduated in Diplomacy and International Relations at the University of Trieste, Gorizia branch, with a thesis on International Law on the International Legal Protection of the Brand “Made in Italy”. After the degree, he moves to Milan where he attends the master in Luxury goods communication and brand management at the Accademia del Lusso, dealing with a thesis on the importance of the Brand experience for the Made in Italy luxury brands. After the master, he becomes a journalist and starts writing for some magazines such as Modaonline, Fashion Illustrated, Urban, The Lifestyle Journal, and was the art director of Designspeaking, an online magazine dedicated to talents in the world of design. In 2014 he published his first book “Moda. The new made in Italy”, with a foreword by Renzo Rosso (founder of Diesel, part of the OTB group), which tells the stories of 12 new generation fashion talents. In the same year he is entrusted, as a teacher, the course of Made in Italy & Luxury Goods System at Accademia del Lusso in Milan and participates as a speaker at various conferences on topics related to the Made in Italy. In 2015 founds together with Manuel Barbieri MM Company, a creative consulting agency.
